One of the travel tips is to order special diabetic meals - especially on longer flights. Would love to hear which airlines offer diabetic meals and which don't? And how do you manage if they don't?

As far as I know, SIA, Emirates & Qantas do serve Diabetic meals if you request for them upon booking. If there isn't "diabetic meals" on board, I would just eat the vegetables, protein & half of the carbohydrates. To be honest, the portions provided are not that large and most airlines do make sure that the meals are balanced. Coffee or tea can be taken without sugar & instead of fruit juices, I would just ask for water. A few years ago, I flew with MAS & they had Diabetic meal on the flight I was on; not only that they also had a lovely stewardess who constantly checked on me during the flight from Europe to Singapore.

Thank you Christine.

In an email to us, SR Madhu says "I always go in for the veg meal. More appetizing and appealing than a diabetic meal which I'm sure would be dull and bland.
