Hi all!

I'm beginning to have to do more work as I am setting up my own social enterprise with a few friends currently. I've been unemployed mostly for the past years. So that's why I never found my drowsiness from Risperidone affecting me. But now that I need to be awake and alert the whole day, I need some energy boosting or alertness tips or foods. Anyone has any ideas on that? I'm diabetic so I would need diabetic friendly foods if it was energy boosting foods. I also have eczema so I can't exercise too much otherwise the excess sweat just makes me break out in rashes, which is why I always hide in air conditioned places.

Greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Yuna :)

Hi YunaAngell - not dealing with the specifics of your condition but a handful of nuts and raisins can help; fruits, raw veggies - not juices. If you work from home, do a burst of exercise at home - 10 min of jumping jacks, skipping, squats and lunges. Make sure you warm up and do them correctly. So you don't injure yourself. Drink water. Hydration helps. If you are in an office, walk away from your desk. Make sure you don't sit for too long.

Great question YunaAngell! This may be useful for you. It has some great ideas for snacks: http://www.patientsengage.com/healthy-living/are-snacks-sabotaging-your…
Also useful to look at this http://www.patientsengage.com/healthy-living/dos-donts-diabetes-diet. This has some suggestions on snacks as well - fruits, raw veggies. Drink water. And if you start your day with some exercise especially some weight work, you will feel less drowsy and lethargic during the day
