This year on International Women's Day we focus on two aspects, the health related inequities that impact women both as patients and as caregivers. Reflect, share and let us know your thoughts.

Did you know that there are many health related inequalities that impact women. There are a few that are captured in the infographic below. Let us recognise these and pledge to take steps to change this

On International Women's day, let us reflect on the biases we still need to break. The infographic below gives an idea on some of these biases.
Let us remember that we still live in a world where a girl child is malnourished, she is denied treatment
Let us be aware of gender bias and social context in access to healthcare
Let us not blame women for not seeking timely treatment or adhering to the treatment proposed.
Let us acknowledge that we do not understand what happens to them outside the clinical arena
Let us create safe spaces for them to speak up
Let us research and understand the healthcare needs of women and correct the imbalance of decades
Let us remember that women continue to take on the larger share of caregiving
Let each of us take a step towards gender equality in healthcare today and advocate for healthcare access for women

Women shoulder a disproportionate burden of informal care with far reaching consequences on equality. This International Women's Day, we celebrate the spirit of womanhood and make a wish that is easily actionable.
