Dried fruit is a concentrated source of sugar.

It sounds good that prunes have lower Glycemic Index when compared to other common fruits. Prunes have a laxative effective, for it contains higher amount of fiber. The sorbitol in prunes along with fiber will absorb more water from the body that eases elimination. (Brisk walking 30 mins a day, eases elimination).

3-4 prunes, can be taken, twice or thrice a week. Not every day/night.

We should always take note that fruits when dried will lose water and vitaminC (an antioxidant) and ends as a source of concentrated sugar with other nutrients and fiber.

So, it is wise to take 2 dried prunes with other foods like vegetable salad. Quinoa prune salad or oats cereal with prunes for breakfast, tastes delicious
