A high cholesterol count may be a risk for heart disease. Cholesterol indicates the fat or lipid content in the body. Increase in this count may be due to a unhealthy diet, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, smoking/tobacco use, diabetes, hypertension etc.
Normal platelet count in blood is usually 150-400K per ml of blood. A high platelet count may be due to several reasons such as anemia, infection or even cancer.
Hence it would be best to consult your doctor who then based on your other findings and physical examination may be able to diagnose the underlying cause.
