Sorry to hear about your pain Rajeev! Pain in the legs can be due to various reasons such as joint issues, obesity, arthritis, diabetic neuropathy etc. Diabetic neuropathy is damage to the nerves caused over prolonged period from uncontrolled diabetes. If the legs and feet are affected, it is called Peripheral neuropathy. If you have Peripheral neuropathy, it would be best to see your doctor for a neurological test. Good control of blood sugar levels, cholesterol, blood pressure and regular foot/leg care are usual routes of treatment. Quitting alcohol and smoking is also extremely beneficial!

Treatment for neuropathy usually includes pain medications along with better control of blood glucose . I would avoid taking over-the-counter pain medications like Ibuprofen and crocin and use only prescribed medicines. Physical exercise and therapy is known to increase the strength and balance in the legs. If there is excess weight, weight loss (via diet and exercise) is very helpful.
