Yes, Schizophrenia is a disability that makes one eligible for disability certification.
The eligibility and percentage of disability has to be assessed by a psychiatrist in government service and recommended for certification to the district disability rehabilitation officer(DDRO) in the respective district. If you are a resident of Chennai or thiruvallur district SCARF is authorized to assess and recommend for disability.

IAM a triple graduate.but because of my health problem IAM not able to go for any job. Being a triple graduate I was hesitating to go for a small range work.. but now I regret for it.. I don't know whom to approach about this. My parents suggest me to apply for unemployed allowance. I did but no use. Even I tried at social security disability... But also there nothing done.. now because of medicines suggested by scarf I'm recovering slowly. But still my yearning auditory hallucinations is not allowing me to go for any job. Now I'm realizing that I made a fault by discontinuing my rehabilitation courses...and I feel guilty because of my irregular activities and burdening my parents.
