Hi Ramesh, are you keeping a good watch on your diet and exercising regularly? It is important to eat a healthy, high fibre, low GI diet and exercise - either walk, yoga, jog, swim, weights, depending on your fitness levels.

You did not mention how long you have been using insulin and what insulin and doses are you on. To answer briefly, when medications are unable or no longer able to lower your blood sugar levels to a good level, often insulin is started. However, to prevent low blood sugar or hypo. Often a low dose of insulin is used. This low dose needs to be increased slower, every 3-4days (with consultation with your doctor), to get your fasting sugars down slowly.
