According to the victoza site: Victoza® is an injectable prescription medicine that may improve blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes, and should be used along with diet and exercise.

Do you want specific feedback on this treatment?

Victoza injections or pens contain liraglutide which is the active ingredient known to decrease blood glucose levels. It is used once a day at any time of the day and dose varies according to the patients's blood glucose levels. Patients are taught how to use it on themselves. It is used for patients who are not on any other oral medications as it can decrease the effects of other drugs.

Dr, Thank you for the prompt response. I was told that Victoza is a form of Insulin and one becomes addicted to it. I am trying to stay clear of Insulin injections. At present I am taking "one GLUCONORM SR 1GM" in the morning before food and "1/2 a tab" at night before dinner. I am also taking "one Tab TELSITE 40 MG" and "one Cap MATILDA FORTE" in the morning after food and "one Tab ATOCOR 10 MG" at night after food.
But to my horror I find that Tab ATOCOR and 1/2 tab GLUCONFORM which I take at night
are discharged in my stool in the morning without both tablets dissolving.
I was advised to take INJ VICTOZA 1.2 MG in the morning. I have not been taking that INJ VICTOZA without really knowing what it was.
Doctor, please advise me what to do. Shall I take the INJ VICTOZA every morning.? Also please advise why the Tablets ATOCOR and 1/2 (500mg) GLUCONORM are being discharged in my stool every morning without dissolving. I am very very worried. Please please help

Victoza is not insulin! It is a drug called Liraglutide. It belong to a class of drugs that help increase insulin secretion after meals, thereby decreasing blood sugar levels. Victoza is favored by most patients who also need to lose weight as it aids in the patients being fuller faster. If medications are not being absorbed, injectons may be prescribed by a doctor. Undigested medications may be due to absorption abnormalities or undigested medication shells/coatings. Best to discuss with your doctor about any unwillingness to take Victoza.
