I have Parkinson's disease for last 4 years. I was  on Syndopa Plus(4 times) and and pramipexole

(0.25 4 times) for long. But Off late I am  finding medication less effective with  pain, muscle rigidity and body heaviness unbearable. Recently I came to know of Apomorphine Injection available to take care of advanced Parkinson's sysmptoms and On - Off Period effect. The medication was launched in Bangalore last month through 2 sources - one at Vikram Hospital by Britania Prarmaceuticals Ltd., UK and another by Rusan Pharma, Inida(Indigenously). It is expected to be available across India once medicine is approved by Drug Controller. I am waiting for the availability in hyderabad. Like to hear whether any one in the group had experience and luck with this medication ? I will be surely post my expericence once I take the medication.

Regards

Apomorphine is usually used for more advanced Parkinson’s, when a person’s symptoms no longer respond well to oral drug treatments. Apomorphine doesn’t help everyone manage their Parkinson’s symptoms, and it may not even replace oral medication entirely. So plese discuss with your specialist before trying it out

Dear Bijal,
Thank you for the information. Yes, my oral medications are not responding and I find it difficult to manage daily chorus including my job. I had been to two Neurologist in Bangalore in this connection one connected with Britannia Pharma and the other with Rusam Pharma. I had basic assessment for this treatment at both places but I backed out from first Doctor after hearing information of same medication through Rusan pharma which costs approx. 1/4 th of Britannia Pharma which make big difference in long term treatment. But the second Doctor said I need to sign few consent before treatment starts which I consider normally required only during trials. When I confronted the Doctor for the same, he asked me to continue with another medication Entacapone which he prescribed te be taken together with Syndopa which is also used for "Wear-Off" symptoms like Apomorphine but I could not find any improvement after using it for 2 weeks. Need to consult Doctor for revaluation.
