Are these special diet considerations for people with Thalassaemia? What are the things you think about on a day to day basis? When you go out to eat?

There are no dietary restrictions as such but yes there are guidelines that are suggested by the doctors:
Should avoid meal consisting high iron content.
Should have meal rich in calcium.
Anyone having a liver disease should avoid alcohol consumption.

Yes! Imran is rite, as per doctor guidance one can take a bit precautions from having high iron content food on regular basis, as red meat, few of the high iron content energy drinks... but apart of that the food iron is much less than the iron one receives from blood transfusion, avoiding any food completely is also not good as one may miss on many other mineral.
