This is a decision that comes up for most people. Can you get by without a surgery ? .

Knee replacement is usually suggested after all other treatment options have failed to provide relief. Severe immobility, inflammation, swelling, pain while resting, knee deformity or stiffness are all signs for considering the surgery. Like all surgeries, it can present with risks of long recovery and rehabilitation process. It's best to discuss this with your doctor who after considering age, weight and other medical conditions will inform you if you are a candidate for this type of surgery.
