In a free wheeling live conversation, PatientsEngage spoke with Pranav Bakhshy, India's model on the autism spectrum and his mother Anupama on the journey to his goal. Great parenting insights. Now available as a video recording.

It all started in 2017 when Pranav Bakhshy expressed a desire to be a model after attending the Velvi Art For Autism Festival. His mother Anupama and sister Nikita guided his journey to support his endeavour to be a model, bringing together his love for dancing, music and photography.  2019 was the year where Pranav achieved his dream goal. We spoke to Pranav and his mother on his journey and the steps they took to become a model. How did they focus on personality development which is a big element of modeling, the coping mechanisms to deal with anxiety, the social stories. Inspired by his superheroes, Pranav talks of autism as his superpower and maintains a disciplined schedule to not only build on his personality and fitness but also continue his studies in graphics and keep his interest in golf and photography alive
