Chandra Mohan, a Houston based Indian origin professor and his colleagues have received a private grant of USD 600,000 for their brilliant and pathbreaking research to develop a new lupus treatment. Lupus is a complex autoimmune disease which is difficult to treat and there was only one approved treatment to date

Lupus nephritis (kidney disease) is one of the most serious complications of lupus. With the TIL grant support, Chandra Mohan, MD, PhD, University of Houston will build on his existing discoveries to evaluate a potential new therapeutic target for lupus nephritis
